Artemis Restaurant & Wine House

Artemis Restaurant & Wine House

Sirince Artemis Restaurant & Wine House is an extraordinary place in Sirince, a village of fairy tales.

Since 1996, it is the most favorite and elegant restaurant in Sirince Village, with its local foods and special production wines … With its location, decoration, presentation, deliciousness, quality and hospitality, it is a place without alternative…

Sirince is an ancient Greek village with its tiny houses arm in arm, which is 8 km far from the Selcuk District of Izmir, and maintains all of the memories of its own history in its streets and lanes under the shadow of olive and fig trees. The first thing, which you will see, when you arrive to this village, is the Sirince Artemis Restaurant and Wine House, in its magnificent building, which smells history and the road leading to this village is asphalt. The stone houses are spread to the both hillsides and faced to the vineyards, gardens and fig trees giving sweet fruits. Sirince Artemis Restaurant and Wine House keeps its garden under shadow of 196 years old giant pine trees, … so that it became the most important character of this fairy tale.

Establishment of this ancient Greek village went back to the 5th century A.D. and it is estimated that the restaurant had been established in the year of 1849. The restoration of this building, in which our service area is located, had been initiated first by the Ministry of Culture, and then, it had been completed according to the village architecture by the Ministry of Tourism in the year of 1998. The furniture and decoration of this two-storied building, which was initially built as a primary school, had been completed by us. Within the indoor area and with the garden, it has the possibility to serve 700 persons, at the same time.

There are different areas, where we can serve to our guests,

Hall with Fireplace;
Ideal for groups, it has a fireplace, very high ceilings and it is spacious and light well. It was the biggest classroom of this building, which was formerly a school.
Cellar Hall;
romantic, gloomy, nostalgic..
Eastern Room;
coal stove,  floor dinner table, ideal for a Turkish Coffee prepared on coal fire or a warm wine...
Pleasure Garden;
Faced to the Sirince houses and under the shadow of old pine trees, it tells the history with sweet wind breezes and with its all magnificence…
Historical Garden with Water Spring;
The small pool at the corner bounds the two sections together. The historical water spring greets the Sirince, with its all stature, surrounded with greenery ...

Here you are a fairy tale, which can be realized by you. Starting a day with the pleasure of having a rich village-breakfast containing village cheese, molasses made of locust beans, hand made pastries and a specialty made of aubergine, pepper and garlic in the Pleasure Garden of ARTEMIS, faced to the white colored Sirince houses...

At the noon time, on the floor tables, you can enjoy the pleasure of drinking a glass of buttermilk and eating the filo-pastries filled with cheese and then, toasted on a hot griddle or the pleasure of drinking a cup of Turkish Coffee prepared on coal fire against the lukewarm winds…
